<Risk factors for CHD between cultures: Japanese, Brazilian’s
“Nikkei” and “Dekasegi”>
The aim of this study is to compare various CHD risk factors through
blood analysis, exams and tests, and questionnaires in people over 40
years old among Japanese, and Brazilian’s “Nikkei”
living in Japan and in Brazil.
<“Saude Coracao” (Health and Heart)>
A project called “Saude Coracao” was created in order to
complete the data collection with “Dekasegi” group (Brazilians
living in Japan). This project prioritized Brazilians-Japanese descendents,
40 years or older, raised in Brazil and living in Japan for 3 years
or more. In total, 334 Brazilians living in central area of Japan (Gunma,
Saitama and Gifu) completed the tests in October and November of 2004.
